Toby Keith shares health update amid battle with stomach cancer

Toby Keith opened up about his battle with abdomen cancer for the first time considering the fact that revealing his prognosis in June.

The 61-yr-old place audio star shared an update on his overall health and foreseeable future touring ideas in the course of an overall look on CMT’s “Hot 20 Countdown.”

He continued, “I have to have a little bit of time to just relaxation up and recover up.”

“It’s really debilitating to have to go by all that,” the “A Very little Much less Discuss and a Great deal More Action” hitmaker admitted.  

“But as long as almost everything stays hunky-dory, then we’ll look at one thing fantastic in the future.”

The singer announced that he was battling belly cancer and using time off to recover from therapy in posts that he shared to his Instagram and Twitter accounts.

“Past fall I was diagnosed with belly cancer,” he wrote. “I’ve put in the previous 6 months obtaining chemo, radiation and surgical procedure. So significantly, so very good. I need to have time to breathe, get better and relax.”

He included: “I am looking ahead to paying out this time with my family. But I will see the followers sooner than later on. I won’t be able to wait around.”

The “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” singer subsequently canceled all of his planned exhibits for the rest of the yr. Through the ceremony, Carrie Underwood and Eric Church paid tribute to Keith, doing covers of “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” and “I Really like This Bar.”

Keith is a longtime advocate for families struggling with most cancers diagnoses, and helped uncovered Ally’s Household in 2004, a nonprofit team that helps Oklahoma young children with cancer and their people.

The nonprofit was named after Allison Webb, the two-12 months-old daughter of Keith’s first band member’s Scott Webb and spouse Lisa. Allison died in 2003 of kidney cancer in advance of her 3rd birthday.

Next in the footsteps of Ally’s Residence, he established the Toby Keith Foundation in 2006 “to encourage the well being and pleasure of pediatric cancer people.”

“In 2014, the foundation opened Okay Little ones Korral, a price-free, effortless and at ease property for pediatric most cancers sufferers obtaining therapy at The Children’s Healthcare facility at OU Healthcare Middle, Stephenson Cancer Middle and other close by services,” the foundation’s mission statement explained.
